Preserved Vegetables 

La Megara preserved vegetables comprise a set of processes to comply strictly, in order to keep all their nutritional and taste properties. Preserved vegetables keep all their properties, even the color and the texture, as conservation includes all biotic and abiotic factors that might deteriorate the quality of vegetables. 

All our ingredients are grown in Tunisia and come packed in a glass jar in order to preserve all their benefits and flavor. The combination of olive oil blended with sunflower oil preserves all the flavors of the vegetables.

  • Tunisian preserved lemon • Tunisian Preserved Lemons are of a Mediterranean variety called Beldi• These lemons are smaller, rounder and darker with a more robost flavor • Unlike common varieties that are harvested year round, this variety of lemon is only harvested from late January to March.

  • • Sun-Dried Tomato Tapenade is made from tomatoes grown and harvested in Tunisia. The tomatoes are then naturally sun-Dried, crushed and seasoned to create a paste that can be enjoyed as a spread or as a compliment to pastas or salads.

  • TUNISIAN HORIA • Tunisian Carrot Spread is made of carrots that are cooked with a combination of Traditional Harissa, Garlic, Olive Oil, Coriander and Caraway seeds. • This North African delicacy is commonly served as a salad or dip.

  • Our Grilled Bell Peppers Spread is an essential dish in any Tunisian kitchen. It is a mixture of peppers, tomatoes and garlic seasoned with spices and olive oil. This kind of salad is generally consumed during the summer since it plays the role of a refreshing dish and is easy to digest.
